Have Some Fun with Paint

Here is the latest piece of  furniture that I bought to be refinished.  I was drawn to it because it was 100% wood (super heavy) and I loved the lines, and even though the hardware was quite dirty I knew they could be shined up.

The before isn’t so bad but a little boring so with some left over paint that I used in my office I painted it and shined it up.  I think the after is lots of fun!

I think alot of people are afraid of color but really it’s just paint, so let’s go for it right!?

Don’t forget to check out how my campaigner shelves turned out over at DiggersList today!

  5. You know…I have been wanting to break out and use some color in my home. I’ve stuck with earth tones (browns, greens,a little bit of red) for SOOOO long! I recently just bought 2 pieces of thrift-ed furniture, but I’m a little scared! Any advice??

    • Pick a color you have in your house like the red or any other small accent color you may have and get some paint to match, since it’s a thrift store find, just go for it, if it doesn’t turn out you can always paint it a neutral color right!? Thanks for stopping by!

  6. What a great job you did. Royal blue is my favorite color to wear but I don’t really see it sticking out as far as paint on the craft aisles.
How did you get those knobs so shiny gold?

    • Thanks Elexa, I shined the hardware up with Bar Keeper’s Friend, it’s my secret weapon! It’s amazing!

  7. Turned out great…love the color. Thanks for linking to 2nd Time Around!

  8. Looks beautiful, with the cheerful blue colour. Reminds me of country side wood doors in India, that come painted in bright red, green and blue colours.
