A Sneak Peek of the Master bedroom
January 11, 2011 at 8:32 am | Posted in master bedroom | 63 CommentsTags: masterbedroom, painted frames, stenciled wall
I’ve been working on our master bedroom for months now and I only have about 3 more projects until I can give you the full reveal. For now I’ll give you a little tease!
Here’s a fuzzy photo (sorry) of the day we moved in. It’s funny how when you’re planning your move you totally intend to keep everything as organized as possible but hour 15 of the move you’re sorta like just throw it anywhere!
Here’s when I replaced the white 2 inch mini blinds with my favorite bamboo shades. The walls are painted Rhine River by Benjamin Moore.
We got rid of the original bar and put in a vanity area.
Here are the lamps I found at Midland Antiques and spray painted white.
Here is a dresser I painted for our room, it was once Drew’s dresser but I’ve claimed it as mine now!
My latest project was my stenciled wall. I used a stencil I bought from JoAnn Fabric. Yep, that’s right one stencil and proceeded to use it on the entire wall! Let’s just say this little project isn’t something I’ll be doing again soon! I used the same color as I did on the dresser stripes (Annapolis Green by Benjamin Moore) which is just 2 shades lighter then the original wall color. I was going for something subtle. If I was a DIY blog I’d show you step by step how I did it but I’m not a good DIY’er, I’m better at sticking to just giving tips! (Sorry!)
The curtains are from Ikea and were hung as high as possible to give the illusion of a larger window and to soften the wall up a bit. The frames are from here and there, picked up over time and sprayed white.
Like I said I’ve only got a few more projects to complete (like replace the small bedroom side table) and once I’m done I’ll give you a full reveal!

What color did you stencil with? A tint of the Rhine River? It looks soft and invitingly cozy.
Comment by Maryann— January 12, 2011 #
It was rhine river, its two shades lighter then the wall color.

Your bedroom is looking gorgeous. I can’t believe you stenciled that wall. Beautiful! I painted stripes as an accent wall in my bedroom and I won’t be doing that again for a while either. HA! I love the color you chose with the white. It is striking.
Hugs, Jeanne

lamps, how you decorated the wall, I mean everything!
Comment by Tea Rose Home— January 16, 2011 #
Oh yeah. Loving this. I have never been much of a blue person but I am really drawn in by that wall color and that stenciling must have taken hours. Did you see it in your sleep that week? Loved that you painted the lamps and that they don’t match. Perrrrrrrrrfection. 🙂 Can’t wait for the reveal.
Thanks so much for sharing on Motivated Monday at BeColorful.
