I’ve talked about this before but it’s true, I’ve been a bit stumped on where to get started on our new house. I figured I’d start with our foyer for a few reasons. First of all I was excited because I actually have a foyer and second because hellooooo it’s where people first walk in!

A lightbulb finally went off and I have a few things to show you.

Here is a reminder of what the foyer looks like. (zzzzzzzz…)

Next I picked out some wallpaper from Sherwin Williams. (It looks cooler on the wall, trust me!)

Have I mentioned I’ve never wallpapered before???? Ummm…Ya Ya Kris, can you come up for the weekend??

Next the paint colors. The first is Benjamin Moore’s Boothbay Gray.

The next is Benjamin Moore’s Courtyard Green.

Next there is the lighting, mirror, rug and accessories. (Pretty huh!!)

Guess it’s time to get busy!!

  1. I love the owl. Where is she from? Is it a candle?

We start a remodel soon and I just asked for a niche in our “new” foyer — just a dry-wall box in a dead space. BUT, I have plans! I will try to have a little down-light. I was inspired to do this by a foyer photo in “The Not So Big House” (p.24) — and it has an owl! Love your wallpaper — good luck!

    • The owl is actually an umbrella stand and “she’s” from Burke Decor. I keep saying I’m not going to buy anymore owls but saying and doing are 2 different things obviously!! Good luck on your remodel!

      • I’m lovin’ Burke Decor’s things. Great resource ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. VERY pretty! I’m excited to see the finished product. LOVE the wallpaper and paint choices – it’s going to look fantastic.

  3. I like this plan. We just moved into our new house a month ago and I’m still on the foyer ๐Ÿ™‚ Can’t wait to see how yours turns out.
