“Your home should be like a loosely woven fabric of desires, memories, practical, notions, and even compromises.” – Celerie Kemble

I love this quote especially about compromises. Whether you’re designing your own home or someone else’s home it’s always about the compromises. The great thing about compromises is it makes you think differently and come up with clever solutions which in my mind usually turns out to be better then the original plan!

Celerie Kemble grew up going to construction sites, antique stores and homes designed by mother, Mimi McMakin.

Celerie studied English literature and graduated from Harvard but went back to her roots and for the last 12 years she has been working as a much publicized residential and commercial interior designer based out of New York City.

In addition to running Kemble Interiors’ New York office, she is designing a furniture collection for Laneventure, a fabrics line for Schumacher and faux-skins fabrics for Valtekz.

Her style is best described as modern with a traditional twist.
